Announcing Dr. Huie's Best Picture

We are pleased to announce that this year's Dr. Huie's Best Picture screening will be The Favourite! Join us at the Alamo Drafthouse, Wednesday, April 3 for a screening and discussion led by Dr. Huie.

The Favourite is set in early 18th century England, as a frail Queen Anne occupies the throne and her close friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) governs in her place. When a new servant named Abigail (Emma Stone), arrives, her charm endears her to them both--at least at first. Olivia Colman won the Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Queen Anne--and her acceptance speech was a highlight of the show! The film was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Film Editing, Best Original Screenplay, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Cinematography, and TWO Best Supporting Actress nominations for Stone and Weisz. It is a one-of-a-kind film that everyone is sure to have an opinion about after seeing!

You can pick a production credit and get up on the screen at the end of the film! We have lots of levels and credits suggested--feel free to suggest another!
